Lacrosse Camps / Clinics for 2009

1) Northwestern University Camp (should be pretty good):

Hello All,

I hope that lacrosse season is finding you well! WomensLax.com is hosting a girls youth lacrosse camp in Manchester, New Hampshire this upcoming summer at the Derryfield School, and I wanted to reach out to you as a local lacrosse contact.  WomensLax.com camps and clinics are based on the Amonte Sports Camp model, built by Kelly Amonte Hiller, head coach of the 4-time National Championship Northwestern lacrosse team. The summer camp will give players a chance to work with some of the nation’s top current and former collegiate lacrosse coaches & players. Players will learn the newest stick skills and concepts, and our goal is to teach and inspire kids to play lacrosse across the nation.

I am hoping to enlist your help to mobilize the local lacrosse community. Please let me know if you have any contacts, suggestions, or ideas to help us offer the best possible opportunity for the New Hampshire lacrosse community.

Below I have attached the links to our registration page and camp brochure.  Should you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me at: (847) 563-8675 or email: cstrodel@womenslax.com.

3) IAS Showcase (mostly for juniors or seniors looking to be recruited):

The IAS Girls Lacrosse Showcase is June 14 in Marlborough, MA. You can view the coaches that will be attending by clicking on the June Coaches link on the webpage. More coaches sign up as it gets closer to the showcase date, check for updates. You might also want to check out the http://www.thecoacheseye.com/. It is a recruiting website that is free to coaches but of course costs us parents. You are able to post a profile and also upload videos to your page for the coaches to view. Abby has received about five contacts from this site in the 2 months she has been signed up. There is a similar recruiting  site that I just discovered and am currently looking into http://www.recruitslive.com/s/827/start.aspx?sid=827&gid=1&pgid=61&cid=160 .

Dear Coaches,

I hope that lacrosse season is finding you well! WomensLax.com is hosting a girls youth lacrosse camp in New Hampshire this upcoming summer at the Derryfield School. We are very excited to announce that our camp will be directed by Christy Finch, a standout collegiate and national player.  Christy’s impressive player profile includes 2008 Tewaaraton Finalist, 2008 NCAA defender of the year, US National Team member, 2-Time All-American, and  4-Time National Champion player for the Northwestern Wildcats.  We are thrilled to have such a decorated player directing our New Hampshire camp!

This camp is a great opportunity for players in New Hampshire to learn from the top lacrosse players in the country and have a great time while doing it!!  At camp we focus on the development of the individual player by teaching the newest stick skills and concepts, emphasizing proper technique to master the basics, and covering all facets of the game from attacking moves to 1v1 defense.  All the camp sessions include staff demos of stick work and drills that players can take home after camp is over.

I have attached our pdf brochure and flyer in this email for you to send to your teams and other contacts.  I have also provided Camp details and information below.  Should you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me at:  (847) 563-8675 or email: kboege@womenslax.com.  Thanks so much for your help and we look forward to seeing you on the field this summer!

Thanks!

Kristen

To all current and former PAL lacrosse players and parents,

Last year Mary Squire, the womens' head coach for So. NH University started a program to give area kids an opportunity to play in summer lacrsse tournaments locally called Average Jane Lacrosse.  This year, the program enters it's second year, and I would like to pass along their information for our parents and players.  If any players are interested in playing lacrosse in high school or beyone, I would highly recommend that they enroll to play in summer tournaments.  The tournaments are the only place to get the opportunity to play against the best competition from around the country.  Average Jane is a particularly good choice for parents and players that do not want to have the expense or travel commitment of playing on elite club teams.  It is a very reasonable program that will give your kids some very  valuable coaching and playing experince.

Hello Everyone!

I hope that everyone's seasons have been going well! It is summer lacrosse time once again! In order to keep costs down, we are handling the tournaments a little differently this year. As of now there is one tournament on our calender. It is the Xtreme Lax tournament in Groton Mass on July 5th. If your daughter wants to play in this tournament we need a definite count by Saturday June 30 . Once we recieve a tally of who is playing, we can determine the cost. The tournament is open to both middle school and high school.

Please feel free to invite any other laxers to join the Average Janes. Our goal is for the girls to have fun playing lacrosse and learn a few things along the way!

When any other local tournaments or playdates open, we will notify everyone! If there are an questions or concerns please feel free to email us!

Thanks!
